Newmar Announces NEW Custom Electrical Panels

Policy Changes:

Speedometer / Tachometer Assemblies:

C. E. Beckman Co. no longer repairs or constructs tachometer or speedometer assemblies. This decision is due to the fact that the vendors who supply the necessary cables, castings, and tips have deleted or discontinued many of the parts needed. We will fill orders as long as our stock allows, but cannot order new parts for such jobs.

High Output Alternators:

Repairs or overhauls to high output, rewound, or customized alternators are no longer available.

This includes Balmar©, Lestek©, Powerline©, Jack-Rabbit© among others. We will continue to offer test stand services for these units.

The reasons for not repairing these items are that the large number of manufacturers make it difficult to stock the parts needed for repairs, and that improper installation of these units can increase the risk of fire.

We are striving to limit our liability and deem it best not to be involved with this type of item.

Older Part Inventory:

As a company, we have made the decision that we will not knowingly sell or service any marine engine auxiliaries that pose a risk to the customer, or are in violation of U.S.C.G. standards.

Examples of such, fuel pumps for older marine engines (old single diaphragm pumps), non-marine approved carburetors, starters with exposed brushes when used on marine engines, conventional magnetos used on marine engines, etc.

BATTERY WARRANTY GUIDELINES:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Effective January 2007, All Customers must contact C.E. Beckman Co, Service Department to attain authorization to return any potential battery warranty claims. An RGA will be completed prior to batteries returned.

C. E. Beckman Company is a wholesale distributor of all types of automotive, industrial, and marine batteries. We handle a wide-range of battery types, sizes, voltage, and brands. We are a wholesale distributor for AC DELCO, EAST PENN-DEKA, LIFELINE and ROLLS

C. E. Beckman Company warrantees electric storage batteries under guidelines set by the manufacturers. The following is a summary of these guidelines and policies used by C. E. Beckman Company when a battery is returned for potential warranty:

  • All batteries that are returned for warranty must be accompanied by a proof of purchase. This proof of purchase must clearly show the date of sale, model of battery and purchase price. There will be NO exceptions to this policy.
  • No warranty credit can be issued for batteries that are damaged, defaced, or missing the manufacturer's label.
  • Batteries with broken terminals do not fall under be warranty.
  • No credit can be issued for batteries with imploded, expanded, or exploded cases.
  • C. E. Beckman Company cannot warranty OEM batteries.
  • If none of the above conditions apply, credit on battery returns will be determined by using a "pro-rate" system. "PRO-RATE" terms vary between manufacturers, but it is commonly based upon retail pricing schedules.
  • We are not responsible for shipping and handling of batteries returned for potential warranty. Most battery warranties are clear; freight is the consumer's responsibility.
  • Batteries that are simply discharged are not defective batteries.
  • It is extremely uncommon for an entire bank of batteries on the same system to be all defective. If multiple batteries are returned for warranty, the customer should thoroughly inspect their charging system.

Any questions concerning these policies, contact C. E. Beckman Co., Service Department
